Hydraulic rod and piston plating
In a hydraulic cylinder, the rod surface decides seal life and leak-tightness. We plate rods and pistons with a hard chrome layer that resists scoring and corrosion.
Drawings are representative and will be replaced with real project photos.
01Benefits
What it delivers
-
Seal-friendly surface
A hard, low-friction chrome surface reduces seal wear and helps prevent oil weeping.
-
Scratch resistance
The hard surface resists scoring from dust, grit and swarf.
-
Built for outdoor work
A corrosion-resistant layer for cylinders working outdoors on construction and farm machinery.
-
Series and one-offs
We plan series orders and urgent one-off repairs with the same discipline.
02Use cases
Applications
- 01 Construction machinery cylinders
- 02 Agricultural machinery cylinders
- 03 Press cylinders
- 04 Forklifts and lifting equipment
- 05 Pneumatic cylinder rods
03Planning
What we plan for
- Material
- We mostly work with induction-hardened C45 or 42CrMo4 rods; the material is recorded on the job card.
- Rod ends
- Threaded ends and rod-eye connections are masked; only the working stroke is plated.
04 FAQ
Frequently asked questions
01 Can a scored rod be re-plated?
In most cases, yes. The old chrome is stripped, the surface inspected and the rod plated again with hard chrome. If the damage is too deep, we tell you before work starts.
02 What is the lead time?
It depends on quantity and size. We confirm a written delivery date with every quote.
